The Antonopoulos Group has had a lot to celebrate lately. The recently revamped Brasserie 701 is more successful than ever and the milestone 10 year anniversary of Méchant Boeuf has proven that their properties can stand the test of time. Last week guests and friends of the group came together to celebrate yet another milestone, the 15th anniversary of Verses – the house restaurant of the delightful Nelligan Hotel.
Beginning with a champagne fuelled welcome cocktail and a musical performance by Beyries, guests mingled, chatted, grazed on canapés and snapped up one photo op after another in celebration of the restaurant’s longevity and jazzy new modern look.
The party continued with a delectable four course dinner that began with a trio of piping hot Rockefeller oysters and followed by a creamy risotto topped with green peas and parmesan with tender lamb and mashed potatoes taking the spotlight as the main course. The dessert was a crumbly chocolate dream that punctuated the meal wonderfully.
The food served was representative of what Verses stands for; quality, fine dining without pretence. Montreal is a city where restaurants like this flourish and 15 years later, Verses has proven that no matter what the trend du jour, if you serve quality food in a comfortable setting, people will keep coming back for more.
Guests of the fabulous party walked away with a cookbook filled with recipes featured on the restaurant’s new menu. The cookbook is available for purchase at Verses.
