Last Tuesday night we were invited to the unveiling of the new Spring/Summer menu at Ryu, a swanky Japanese restaurant on Laurier near Park. Together with top industry insiders, various (and very cool) media and excited foodies the night rolled out slowly as we were treated to selections from the menu.
A plethora of seafood from beet cured arctic char to shrimp and dollops of meat and squid (pictured above) in between, our taste buds were tantalized during the 4+ hour media tasting evening. You can check out the full menu here!
Ryu is perfectly located just steps from the trendy corner of Park and Laurier. With a boldly hyper-modern, open concept décor the restaurant balances a Zen coziness with sharp lines and big bright windows that laminates the entire space. Since 2011, Ryu has been blending traditional Japanese culinary traditions with fresh grown Quebec produce and is backed up by an extensive wine list.
For a different take on tapas, Ryu is worth trying!
