On Wednesday, Nov 12, Montreal’s vibrant art scene banded together in support of the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada (CCAC). Presented by Cogir Management Corporation, the Gala event raises funds (a grand total of $300,000 was raised) and brings awareness to this devastating disease. People came out in record numbers to bid on fantastic art and immerse themselves in an art driven event unlike any other. Sugar Sammy headlined this year’s event and he received rave reviews from fans in attendance. Hosted by the lovely Natasha Gargiulo, the event also gathered musicians like Steve Mastroianni (aka VOID) and singer Corina Vincelli. Also featured was a real-time painting event by EN MASSE, the collaborative live art group featured at the Montreal Museum of Art and a special appearance was made by Inertia, a Montreal modern dance troupe. Held at Arsenal on William Street, attendees were treated to a cocktail dînatoire and dessert. Colorectal Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Canada and is 90% curable if detected in early stages. This can be beaten and with our collective effort, we can make that happen sooner than later.
See you next year!
