With Montreal’s summer finally in full swing, there isn’t a moment to waste when it comes to eating on our favourite terrasses, drinking on our favourite rooftops or sitting in the sun, soaking it all in. For a second year in a row Marché des Éclusiers returns, offering visitors in Old Montreal a unique environment where they can relax and enjoy some amazing food.
This year they’ve shaken things up a little, offering people a little more diversity with restaurants providing some excellent food and drink. Martin Juneau has set up shop on the second floor with a Pastaga snack bar offering a delightful menu of quick bites to be enjoyed while overlooking the Lachine Canal. On the main floor Burger Royal offers excellent burgers and fries, Volcanic Organic (the only returning kiosk) continues to brew up some of the best coffee and baked goods you’ll find in Old Montreal and Velish offers a vast selection of cold pressed juices, vegan salads and of course, delicious smoothies.
Marché des Éclusier’s kitchen will also be firing on all cylinders all summer long, offering their take Quebec favorites such as an excellent roasted chicken (a special collaboration with Paradise BBQ), mac & cheese and poutine while putting locally produced foods front and centre. Kiosks housing local farmers and producers are set up daily and provides Old Montreal with a true taste of Quebec.
Le Marché des Éclusiers is open all summer long (and well into the fall) can be reserved for private groups and corporate events. For more information, visit their website here but it’s more fun to check it out in person!
