L’INTERNATIONAL DES FEUX: On Wednesday, July 29th and Saturday August 1st, Loto-Québéc presents l’International des feux (the International Fireworks Competition). These are the last two performances of the year starting with France presenting Dynamite Circus on Wednesday. Dynamite Circus is an invitation to a pryromusical, an adventure in fun, music and emtion. On Saturday, closing out the competition, it’s the Finale les étoiles Loto-Québéc. This year’s presentation will feature the works of Madonna with everyone getting into the groove of the irresistible hits of the pop icon.
MUSIC ON HIGH: On Thursday July 30th, for the second year in a row Campbell Concerts invites us to experience the Metropolitan Orchestra directed by Yannick Nézet-Séguin at the Kondiaronk Belvedere. This year’s program features work from Tchaikovsky (Romeo and Juliet) and Dvorák (Symphony No. 9); Admission is free.
OSHEAGA: It’s finally here! The Osheaga Festival of Music and Art kicks off this Friday, July 31st and goes through Sunday August 2nd. Featuring three days of local, National and International musical performances on five stages, Osheaga will keep Montreal feeling festive all weekend long. NICKI MINAJ @ BELL CENTRE: On Wednesday, July 29th Nicki Minaj decends upon Montreal with her Pinkprint Posse for the Montreal leg of her Pinkprint Tour. Featuring Meek Mill, Rae Sremmurd, Tinashe and Def Loaf, tickets for the show can still be purchased here.
SIMPLE PLAN @ NCG: This Tuesday, Montreal super-group, Simple Plan will be joined by some very special (and secret) guests at New City Gas as part of the Coca-Cola concert series. Admission is free so if you’re a fan of Simple Plan, this one’s a no-brainer. Doors open at 7pm. FYI: At the moment the concert is reading as sold out but there’s always a possibility to find tickets! Presented by La brigade du bonheur.
