Last Thursday night at the Merchant Royal’s summer launch, they threw a bash celebrating their exclusive new beer, the Royal Lager. The delicious new beer is brewed and bottled specially for the tavern by Montreal’s very own celebrated brew masters, Bierbrier Brewing Co.
The night drew select media, local celebrities and beer lovers from all over the city to the upscale tavern located in the heart of Old Montreal on St. Jacques street for a taste of the lager and enjoy a savory taste of the wonderful food they serve. The Royal Lager is an all-natural beer, brewed with select North American malted barley and hops. The taste is refined and the crisp golden lager is a great way to beat sweltering summer days and nights.
With an extraordinary selection of on-tap beers, a variety of delicious cocktails and a full menu featuring tasty bar food, Le Merchant Royal is the perfect setting for anything from a quick after work 5a7 to a night where you and your friends settle into a booth and enjoy watching the evening unfold. The addition of the Royal Lager will only make that much harder to choose your drink!
Bierbrier knows a thing or two about brewing. Established in Montreal in 1999 by Charles Bierbrier, the company was almost destined to come into existence. With a rich European history of brewing in his family, the name Bierbrier literally means “beer brewer” in German. Charles is passionate about his products and feels that if he’s putting his name on the bottle, you can bet its damn good beer (his words, not mine)!
