New City Gas continues to be one of Montreal’s hottest state-of-the-art venues, gathering the city’s social savvy party people for top-notch events. Earlier this Month, Bacardi Rum, with the help of 1Milk2Sugars PR, threw the ultimate outdoor party at NCG celebrating the sizzling culture of Cuba and Latin America. We were front row centre at the event, soaking up the sun and drinking up the fun and bringing you all the details. The evening kicked off with cocktails created specially for the event. Concocted by our very own star mixologist, Lawerence Picard of Nectar and Mixology, the delicious cocktails featuring Bacardi Oakheart Rum at the base and a slew of delicious ingredients like spicy ginger, ice-cold cola and more. Nourishment was provided by Olive Catering and featured South American inspired canapés such as Argentinian empanadas and Brazilian inspired skewers. As the night went on and the sun went down, the glowing strands of rounded lights and sizzling sounds of live Latin music filled the summer night air around New City Gas. Brazilian dancers decked out in feathers and glittering costumes delivered an astounding performance that shook the packed crowd to the core and made us eager for more. On a night like Bacardi’s Festival Libre at New City Gas it’s impossible not to get caught up in the lively action. You can’t possibly escape the music and before long the Latin rhythm is going to get you. Montreal is a city that offers a little something to everyone and that night on the border between Griffintown and Old Montreal, we showed off a little of our city’s Latin soul.
