A new business is a lot like rocket, if it’s going to be sailing into the stratosphere of success, it’s got to be launched with a bang. On May 22nd, Juicyyy Lab, a new St. Henri health food stop fuelled by the creative minds that brought us Notorious Barbershop and Vintage Frames Eyewear, launched with the biggest bang of all and we were there to take it all in.
Hundreds of people gathered under a white tent set up next door to Juicyyy Lab to celebrate the store’s opening. It looked more like the main stage at a music festival than a juice bar opening, which suited Corey Shapiro just fine (to understand the scale of the party -you could actually hear the music from St. Henri metro which sits across the train tracks). This isn’t just a regular juice bar, it a next level approach to maintaining a healthy balance while living a crazy life. You can read more about that in our preview piece here.
While there I bumped into Corey who was hanging out with the masses, enjoying the party as much as everyone else. He was excited about the opening, which was headlined by Biz Markie, and happy to give people another reason to dart into St. Henri. The area is close to his heart and he couldn’t be happy to be able to take part in the neighbourhood’s success. He also gave us a hint of his next project, which I swore to keep secret. You’ll have to check back here for that soon.
Check out some more shots of the night below and be sure to go check out Juicyyy Labs for yourself. It’s the fuel that will keep you rocketing through your day jobs and your nightlife.
