The list is out!
The 2014 Osheaga lineup has been released to a salivating public and this year there’s no shortage of talent to keep the dehydrated, sun drenched masses swayin and playin around! From August 1st to the 3rd, Parc Jean Drapeau will host a hoard of musical acts including household names like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Outkast, Chromeo, Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and more. Lorde will also be twisting out her tunes under what I expect will be a humidity hair disaster.
Canadian favorites (of mine) Sam Roberts Band and Hey Rosetta! are also set to take the sweltering stage during the sprawling three day show. Newcomers HAIM will be performing songs from their recently released album as well. My excitement starts and stops with these acts.
I’m not terribly excited about this year’s headlining artists. The whole thing feels a little too 90’s normcore (this is really a thing. Look it up.) for me. I love the 90’s just not this ironically. Maybe this year will be the year to focus on the smaller acts, which is fine by me. As fun as Montreal is during Osheaga, last year’s edition felt like it wasn’t much more than a pit stop for the year’s Grammy winner’s tour buses.
