If ever there was a party not to be missed this summer it was the Grey Goose Vodka Summer Soiree. Set on the sprawling grounds of a private Westmount mansion, guests marvelled at the set-up, a scene set in a forested sanctuary, complete with a waterfall and a lake. Overlooking Montreal’s skyline, the Gaspé Beaubien mansion was a site to behold.

AVE_4093Rolling up to the mansion from the stretched driveway, the view of the house and the grounds was breath taking. A short walk up some cobbled stones with a welcome cocktail in hand, we finally arrived in wonderland. Wasting no time, we found our friends and got things rolling. We quenched our thirst with refreshing Grey Goose cocktails made simply from a few fresh ingredients, Perrier and one of several featured Grey Goose vodkas including Cherry Noir, Le Citron, L’Orange and of course the unbeatable original.

GroupShotThe grounds were gorgeously decorated in blue and white with large balloons, leather sofas, a Grey Goose swing, two bars and plenty of room to mingle in the freshly cut spring grass. As far the Montreal social scene goes, this party was the event of the season and unlike anything Montreal has seen before. The decadence was palpable. Decked out in our garden party finest, the soirée was attended by our city’s most curious glitterati, media, models, bloggers, fashionistas and of course Grey Goose reps. Over the course of the night, a beautiful white horse toured the estate while a trio of synchronized swimmers gave a performance in the lake that was fed by the waterfall.

GreyGooseHorsePlatters of catered food including sushi, chicken, artisanal pigs in a blanket (served with several types of Maille mustard) and more were passed around to keep our hunger satiated as dusk fell upon the party.

SynchronizedSwimers2In a city like Montreal where one’s social calendar is filled to the brim with exciting openings, lush parties, savoury lunches, brunches and more, the Grey Goose Summer Soiree was a pleasant surprise that took us off the beaten path. It was a relaxed yet chic affair that has put the wind in our social summer sails.
