Hotel St. Martin

Day Jobs and the Nightlife is all about finding those unique Montreal experiences and bringing them to our curious readers around the world. The St. Martin Hotel couldn’t be more unique or more Montreal which is why it’s on our list of top places to stay in the city. Read on! The locally owned and operated downtown St. Martin Hotel is one of only three St. Martin Hotels (all located in the greater Montreal area) which cater to a wide variety of guests, providing a personalized experience to each visitor. Standing in the centre of the bustling business and world renowned shopping districts, this is the perfect hotel for business travelers, museum junkies, festival followers or those explorers looking to simply get away for a weekend.

The St. Martin Hotel features 123 remarkable rooms which are contemporarily decorated yet remain quite modern in design, appealing to those looking for the upmost comfort without pretense. This relatively new hotel has all the amenities common in the hotel industry, but they go way beyond common to impress their guests with details both great and small. The rooms are comfortable, elegant and free of clutter with large, airy bathrooms and a calming space.

The hotel features six room types, the most impressive being the verrière which offer a spectacular floor to ceiling view of the city (we love a good view!). Other rooms at the hotel, depending on which you choose, also offer a cozy fireplace and in certain rooms there’s a sliding wall that further opens the area up to the spacious bathroom, revealing a pedestal bathtub (perfect for a relaxing, romantic getaway). If you’re looking for wow factor, you can’t beat that! It should also be said that the in-room coffee is excellent and I dare you to not sample the chocolate from Suite 88 Chocolatier. I promise you’ll be making your way up to their St. Denis location for more. In addition to the wonderful rooms and amenities, the St. Martin Hotel features a heated outdoor pool (with heated floors around the pool) that operates all year round. The hotel also features a small but very functional gym.

Adding to the uniqueness of the St. Martin hotel is L’Aromate, the restaurant located within the building. L’Aromate is owned by local celebrity chef Jean-Francois Plant and is a destination all on its own. The restaurant is beautiful with sky high ceilings and the centrally located Ben’s Bar, named for the famous restaurant that once occupied the space. In the summer, the restaurant spills out onto the side walk with a magnificent terrace filled with decorative awnings, palm trees and other delights that catch the eye. It was this terrace that first drew our attention and curiosity to the hotel years ago.

For travelers looking to have a truly unique stay in Montreal, the St. Martin Hotel prides itself on being able to provide a particularly different experience to their guests. They have their finger of the pulse of what it means to stand out and they deliver an astounding stay in the city.
