Down To Business

In December, the folks behind a slew of popular Montreal hotspots like Pastaga and Tapas 24, came together to open Commerce, a new restaurant and bar on the ever diversifying McGill street in Old Montreal. Combining an extensive background in people pleasing atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, the powerhouse team proved there’s fun in the business of a great concept restaurant. We are so excited about Commerce that we wanted to bring it to your attention right away. We will be doing a full restaurant review in the near future. For now, feast your eyes on this! Commerce 2Commerce hits all the right notes with a range of three different menus (lunch, dinner and snacks) featuring a well-rounded selection of dishes of everything from perfectly cooked meats and fish to tender chicken and grilled veggies. They also feature a snack menu with selections of oysters, charcuterie to share and a must try burger. They also serve up some amazing cocktails and draw parallel lines with a great selection of wine and beer. Commerce 3Located steps away from Square Victoria (and the metro), Commerce is a primed to be one of Montreal’s busiest hotspots in 2015. The fantastic décor is elegantly designed, modern yet warm and community centric (The large table near the window and entrance on the main floor is highly coveted). The bar is a main focal point as well with plenty of seating and space to see everything that’s going on. Upstairs you’ll find more seating and a second bar for more drinking pleasure. Commerce 6We went to the gong show opening on a very snowy night last December that packed in as many people as possible, right up to the rafters. We sampled a few of the dishes and of course, plenty of drinks. We can’t wait to go back and take a deeper look at Commerce. Stay tuned.
